Olivia Cueva is the Creative Director of the David E. Glover Center where she develops creative solutions to amplify free technology and design programming to the community of East Oakland and the greater East Bay. She received her Masters from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU Tisch where she invented products ranging from wearable technology, augmented reality apps, video games, and interactive installations. She is excited to return to her hometown to develop a communal space of innovation, putting the power of making and engineering back into the hands of our communities.

OLIVIA CUEVA

Creative Director

Tanya Campbell is an artist, designer and educator, working at the intersection of art and technology. Originally from the Bronx, NY, she attended SUNY Buffalo State College where she obtained her Bachelors degree in electrical engineering and oil painting. Tanya went on to obtain her Masters degree in Interactive Design from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. She currently works at the David E. Glover Center where she serves as the visual design lead and teaches animation, circuitry, and coding to middle school and high school youth.

TANYA CAMPBELL

Visual Design Lead & Instructor

Noah Jones, Instructor of Game Design and Artificial Intelligence. Noah has a background in Cognitive Science at UC Berkeley and is passionate about creating truly intelligent A.I. and truly interactive video games. His courses focus around core game mechanics in Unity using the C# programming language and the fundamentals of Natural Language Processing (a sub category of Artificial Intelligence) using the Python programming language. Noah values creativity and collaboration over all else and strongly encourages students to build off of each other to create masterful works of art using code.

NOAH JONES

Artificial Intelligence Specialist & Instructor

Darrah Montgomery is the Program Administrator handling most of the administrative and reporting responsibilities for the David E. Glover Center. She joined the David E. Glover Center as a volunteer and quickly found out that she had a soft spot in her heart for working closely with members of the Oakland community. She works primarily with our older adult population who come from a generation that believes knowledge is power and knowledge is our ticket to freedom. She is inspired by their determination to continue educating themselves by any means necessary.

Jorge Flores came to the center as a student of humble beginnings, identified and inspired by past director David E. Glover. He has gone on to become the center’s Office Manager and Spanish-language Computer Basics Instructor. You can also find him in the community raising awareness about our upcoming classes. Mr. Flores is passionate about empowering East Oakland residents through computer skills acquisition for workplace success.

Thomas Washington brings over 17 years of experience in creating customized software training modules designed to fit the learning needs of individuals and/or group clients.  Although Mr. Washington has delivered training services for many years to various age groups, his personal goal is to support educational projects that address the needs of the senior community and become an active participant in bridging the digital gap between generations.
